Spring Break 2017

Ah!! I can't believe it's been over a MONTH since my last post!! I'm sorry!!
We're getting back into the groove of things this week after a TWO WEEK Spring Break. It was awesome. We didn't go anywhere, which I know is kind of lame...BUT we made the most out of our staycation! We did lots of fun things around the area and the weather was gorgeous for almost the entire break! I LOVE having the kids home...I wish I could homeschool them to be honest...they are loud, crazy, sassy and they're not always the best listeners, but I sure do adore these kiddos!

Chris was on vacation from work the first week of their break and he kicked things off by taking all four of them {alone!!!} on a SUPER long bike ride to Bregenz, Austria which is about 9-10 miles from our house. He rewarded them with a trip to the park and ice cream ; )

Some were more willing to share their ice cream than others!

The next day I returned the favor to Chris and gave him some time to himself while I took the kids to the pool, then we hit up a movie to see "Boss Baby"

On Wednesday, we hit the road for a quick overnight trip to Munich! It's only a two hour ride and I was SO excited to explore the city, but I quickly learned that our kids just aren't at the age to appreciate a darn thing! Ha!! The whole "walking and sight seeing" thing just isn't happening yet...there's a Lott of "I'm hot"...."My legs are tired"...etc... coming from our crew. Sigh....hopefully that'll improve because there's a lot of things we want to see!!!
Our first stop in Munich was Hofbrauhaus!

After lunch we wandered around a beautiful garden, then headed to see the Glockenspiel, which I have to be honest, was a bit underwhelming! Sorry!!

One of the most entertaining parts of the day was to watch all of the football fans in town to see FC Barcelona play FC Bayern...lots of singing and cheering and just fantastic people watching happening!!

The next morning we woke up and headed to the Deutsches Museum.

There was SO much to see, I had read in a blog before we went that it was impossible to see everything in one visit...that was spot on. This place is HUGE!!! It is the largest science and technology museum in the world. The good thing is that because it was so big it never seemed crazy crowded. We all had a great time and can't wait to go back and explore more.

We drove home after our day at the Museum and all felt a little like this:

Once we got home we started preparing for Easter...we dyed Easter eggs and had a really great family weekend at home.

On Easter Sunday it rained, which was a huge bummer, so after church we all came home to change into our pajamas and just hang out. Easter Monday was a holiday here in Bavaria, so Chris was home an extra day and we got ready to start our second week of break with a special guest...Grandma (Chris' mom) was coming on Wednesday!! We've been having SO much fun with her, stay tuned to see what we've been up to!!!!
